GJNC Monthly Meeting and Coffee
Masonic Lodge 2400 Consistory Ct, Grand Junction, COThe speaker for February is Libby Collins who is the Regional Program Manager for Colorado West Land Trust. We meet at 9:30 am for coffee and conversation. Meetings are held at the Masonic Lodge/Grand Valley Event Center, 2400 Consistory Ct. No reservations necessary.

Midday with New Dimensions – The Great Chicago Fire
Central LibraryThe Great Chicago Fire of 1871, presented by Sheree Fukai at the Mesa County Central Library, 443 N. 6th Street, at noon, on Thursday, February 12. Sheree is a retired engineer who lived most of her life in the “Windy City” leading to a deep interest in its unique history.
Fire raged through Chicago, Illinois, for three days in October of 1871. Roughly 3.3 square miles of the city was destroyed, leaving over 100,000 residents homeless.
Did Mrs. O’Leary's cow really kick over the lantern? Sheree Fukai will tell the story of Chicago before the fire, how the fire started, why it was so devastating, and life in Chicago after the fire.
Midday with New Dimensions is a partnership between Mesa County Libraries and New Dimensions Lifelong Learning, offering free public lectures. Seating is first come, first served. -

If you like bowling for fun with friendly people, come join us each Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Orchard Mesa Lanes, 295 27 Road. The cost is $8.50 for three games (+$2 if you rent shoes). Men and women bowl separately. All skill levels are welcome.
