Many people enjoy going to the movies but don’t have the opportunity to talk about the movie with others. This club offers a fun and friendly forum for film discussion on movies that range from classic musicals like “West Side Story” to Independent films such as “Nomadland” and “The Florida Project “. The club selects movies that are widely available on streaming services or on library DVDs, along with some new releases, which members watch individually in advance of the meeting. Members rotate hosting responsibilities, with discussions held the first Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. Wine, soft drinks and shared appetizers are served.
Sometimes single people hesitate to dine in a restaurant alone. This group helps singles experience the restaurants of the Grand Valley as a group. We get together for lunch every third Wednesday at noon to share food and friendship. Some of our recent favorites are Spoons, Dream Café and Pour Fellows. All singles are welcome!
Join this fun group of knitters and crocheters to work on your needlework projects, learn from each other and make friends. New members are always welcome to bring a project to work on or get advice on a tricky stitch or unclear directions. This group meets monthly, generally in members’ homes every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All levels welcome – whether you’re making a simple baby’s hat or a complex afghan, this is the group for you.
