DESCRIPTION:Hikes are easy-going\, reasonably paced and typically 3-5 miles. They are either a loop or out-and-back\, usually with less than 200 feet of elevation increase.  Typically\, we meet at a location and carpool to the trailheads.  We meet every Thursday at 8:45 a.m. weather permitting to finalize plans and decide on carpools and depart at 9 am.

SUMMARY:Hiking
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, we will hike the easy\, level hike of KindredReserve.   There will be views of the Colorado National Monument\, ponds\, and a stream.  This hike is about 2 miles and will take less than 2 hours.  It will be partly sunny\, with temperatures in the 70’s.\n\n     Kindred Reserve\, nature park\, is  a Grand Junction park near Tiara Rado golf course.  More info Here:   https://www.gjcity.org/1087/Kindred-Reserve-Open-Space-Park  It might be fun to eat at Clubhouse 25 restaurant at  Tiara Rado.  https://www.facebook.com/Clubhouse25/ \n\n\n\n     Directions:  Proceed South on Redlands Parkway (think south end of 24 Rd.) which changes to  South Broadway.    Head towards Tiara Rado Golf Course.  When you see the big Kindred Reserve sign near the rail fence\, continue past the driving range and turn right in the special parking lot. Do not park in the driving range.

DESCRIPTION:We will hike the Mica Mine hike.  This is a particularly wonderful hike because it is close\, has an amazing canyon\, and is both easy and short (about 1.5 hours).  It is one of the best hikes to take a visiting grandchild or out-of-town visitor. \n Meet at 0845 at the Redlands Safeway shopping center parking lot on the SW corner\, outside Chow Down.  Safeway is located on Broadway.  If you are arriving from central Junction\, go west on Grand\, which turns into Broadway\, heading just across the river.  We will assemble and then carpool to the parking lot in Bangs Canyon for the hike.\n\n A walking stick will be useful for the uneven footing.  Always bring water on hikes.\nWe meet every Thursday at 8:45 a.m. weather permitting to finalize plans and decide on carpools and depart at 9 am.
